The World of Susanne Bartsch is one of fantasy, wonder and complexity. This exhibition was the work of curators Susanne Bartsch and the Museum Director Valerie Steele who selected close to 120 outfits that were featured from various Dance Parties that Bartsch produced starting in the 70's to the present. The exhibition design divided the Main Gallery into three main spaces meant to depict Ms. Bartsch's store in Soho, her New York City apartment in the famous Chelsea Hotel and lastly a Dance Party complete with cages, catwalks and a motorized spinning platform. Collages and scaled models shown below, were used during the design phase to understand the feel of each of the various zones.
